We Need Volunteers And Fosters

Our adoption center located within PetSmart is open 7-days per week and is staffed exclusively with Kneading Kitty’s Rescue volunteers. 

Each day is broken into 2 hr shifts and volunteers commit to a set scheduled shift each week. Volunteers must be 18 yrs or older unless volunteering as part of a parent & child team.  Due to limited space in the adoption center, a maximum of 2 volunteers can work comfortably and safely at a time.

Duties include:

• Ensuring kitties have full food dishes, fresh water, clean litter, clean bedding
• Socializing the kitties through playing, petting, and handling 
• Working with potential adopters and processing adoption paper work
• Cleaning and stocking the adoption center

Our organization could not exist without the generosity of the amazing fosters who open their homes to provide shelter, care, and love for rescued kittens and cats. 

We specialize in raising rescued litters, so we are always in need of fosters who are skilled with the young ones.  If you'd prefer to work with adult cats, we need fosters for that too.   Regardless of whether you have years of experience fostering multiple litters, or will be a first time foster for just one adult, we "knead" you!  

As a foster, we ask of you:

• Care for the animals you foster as if they are part of your own family
• Communicate frequently and openly with the Foster Coordinator and Medical Director
• Communicate with potential adopters as needed.  (We take care of all the paperwork.  Potential adopter visits at your home are optional.)
• Safe and reliable transportation to get to clinics, adoption events, and our PetSmart Adoption Center when needed
• Reside within the greater Phoenix Metro area

Support that we provide to you:

• Mentoring from our experienced Foster Coordinators and Medical Directors
• Private FaceBook group to share ideas, advice, and interact with other fosters
• Wellness Clinics with Medical Directors. Services include: some vaccines, FeLV/FIV testing, microchipping, ear mite treatment, other minor medical issues.

                     West Valley:  Regular schedule - Thursday evening every week

                     East Valley:  Flexible schedule 

• All vet visits paid by the rescue (with prior approval)
• Food and Litter
• Other supplies (litter box, scoop, bowls, toys, scratchers, etc.) by request when donation or funding levels allow
