If you’ve recently adopted a kitty from Kneading Kitty’s Rescue, you are undoubtedly excited to bring your new furry friend home and begin your journey together. You should have received copies of the documents found at the bottom of this page in your adoption packet, which answer many of the most common questions.
For most animals, you should have also received proof of a rabies vaccination and spay/neuter as well. If you are missing these, please email us.
Still have questions or missing a document? Please email us and we'll get back to you promptly.

Cats experience stress from many things: car rides, new home environment, new people, new animals, new routine, change in food or litter. Symptoms such as mild diarrhea, sneezing, goopy eyes, or the kitty acting sleepy, shy or withdrawn are very common and generally self resolve as the kitty gets familiar with their new home.
We do our best to make sure the kitty you adopt from us is healthy. However, given the nature of the rescue environment, common and easily treatable ailments such as: ear mites, ring worm, or giardia occasionally surface a couple weeks after adoption.
If in doubt about your kitty's well being, please schedule an appointment with your vet or email us so that a Medical Director can advise you. We are often able to treat the above mentioned conditions at our weekly clinic at no cost to our adopters.
About 3-4 weeks after you adopt from Kneading Kitty's Rescue, we will transfer your new pet's microchip registration to you. If any of the contact details you provided on the adoption paperwork change prior to the registration, be sure to let us know. We use the Free Pet Chip Registry service. You can create your own account for free and maintain your pet's information once the registration is transferred.
Although we do our best to make sure that the kitty you adopt from us is healthy, we also recommend establishing a relationship with a vet soon after you adopt in order to prepare for anything that may come up in the future.
